My wife took my 4 year old to her 4 year old well child check up. Usually we are not billed anything for this check up as it is a preventative visit. However this time we were billed a riduculous amount of money and our part @$69. When we called to ask, they explained that we were charged this amount because my daughter's doctor saw a rash. No treatment was given to my daughter according to my wife. The doctor merely noted it and all was forgotten on our perspective, however from our doctor's office this is a standard procedure to treat it as an other billable office visit for the rash, even though we only went in for a well child check up. My daughter was considered healthy except for the rash. Does this sound normal? If it is normal then we could in theory be charged for every rash, scratch, bump, etc even if we didn't ask for the treatment or recieve any treatment? Sounds ridiculous to me!
