Not truly split - it was malformed so one side grew normal and the other - well, didn't so I had a normal half uterus and an extra malformed bit with a teeny tiny tract from the main uterus to the little bit.

Was there ever any hope that .Oliver could have made it to term? What I mean is, did he pass away because of where he was situated or was it for some other reason?

The top of the uterus he was in started to tear.

The u/s tech saw a lot of fluid in my abdomen and so I was sent for a laparoscopy (keyhole investigation) but instead they did a laparotomy (slice you open) and ruptured it further and so the they decided with out my consent or steve's to take him - he was still alive with a good strong heartbeat, and then decided they couldn't repair my uterus after they ripped it open to take the baby out and so removed it - completely failing to notice the main uterus at all.

If they had done things properly, there is a high chance, that with bed rest, I might have made it to 24 weeks or more seeing as I already had the rupture 4 weeks, but they chose to ignore my comments and recurrent hospital trips as "women get pains during pregnancy".

And now, the hospital wonder why I am p*ssed at them Rolling Eyes

rupture however is unavoidable when pregnancy occurs in a rudimentary horn, point is they didn't even try.

When I came out of intensive care I did get to hold him for a few minutes. I also have a few pictures of him plus prints from his feet.

***edit to add***
if anyone wants to see his pics you can ask but otherwise I won't show because they can be quite upsetting if you aren't expecting what you see.
Albeit he is a perfectly formed little boy.

yes, if you look what I posted in the pics, you can see (as explained) they only removed the rudimentary horn - they failed to notice the main uterus, to which the cervix is connected.

If it makes you feel better, i've been told that I would never be able to have a baby (carry to term). Ha! So it's possible!!!
