Okej I just recently got a call from my dr's office and they had told me my results had come back positive for an abnormal pap. Has any one else had this?

Todaj I go back to have another ultra sound and than I return on the 26th for forther testing regarding my abnormal pap, they also said it is warning signs for cirvical cancer? Would this end my pregnancy?

Please tell me there is some comfort in this.

I am not so sure that it would end your pregnancy...But then again I am not sure. A lot of times an abnormal pap can come back and you go get other tests done and it turns out to be nothing.

Just don't stress out about it. Until you have other tests done. You need to call your doc and see what he says about it. Make a list of questions you have so you dont' for get one and go from there.

Did they mention that you might have .H.P.V?

I doubt it would affect your pregnancy, unless your cervix decided to open prematurely.

no they did not mention any thing like that.

They said they wanted to take a sample of the tissue but they couldn't because the fact that I was pregnant.
Ill know a little bit more after my ultra sound appt in two hours but this one is mainly to see if the baby is okej.

So at the next dr's appt I think they are going to go in and do a vinigar solution to see if there are area's that are cancerous.

this is strange, because my good friend just went through a similar situation.

She, though, does have .H.P.V.

Last .Wednesday, I went with her to see her baba (another boy) on the ultrasound. They were also going to check her for any suspicoius looking abnormalities on her cervix.

Her Dr. Saw something and snipped it out for testing purposes. (my friend is 29 weeks preggy by the way.)

i thought this might help you in some way. To know that it's not as uncommon as you might think to have an abnormal pap.

An abnormal pap is how one of my friends found out she was pregnant!

If you're still unsure of your situation, just call another Dr. And see what he/she says about the matter.

Its probably h.P.V the humanpapallomia virus! I was diagosed with a low straind.. This strained I was told can go away on its own. The higher the straind the more risk you are for cervical cancer.. This normally doesnt effect a pregnancy unless they are genetal warts involved which can occur with a high strained of hpv. If that does happen they will remove them or they will deliver your baby c-section! Its nothing to be to worry about.. Its seems that a good majority of woman have this virus. It can go away on its own depending on the straind. But make sure you go and have paps done because if it looks like cancerous cells they will remove it. Talk more to your doctor.. I only know so much! I hope maybe its nothing bad for your pap.. Goodluck.. I would contact your doc and find out

Vinger solution is a way to find warts that are caused by hpv and also to fins cancerous spots that are caused by hpv and need to be removed. Hun this is common.. I wouldnt stress. In the begining I freaked. I was scared. I didnt think I could concieve or have sex.. But I was wrong.. Just ask your doc some more questions about it.. You'll learn everything. But it is very common. And the thing is it doesnt really effect men like it does woman.. And men are hard to test for it unless they have some physical symptoms. I wouldnt worry

i thought that too!!!!!

She told me that the pregnancy of her 1st son made her have a large outbreak. I asked her if she was gonna have a c-section. And she said no, she didn't have to.

And sure enough, she didn't have to.

The Dr. Told her the same with this pregnancy.

Herpes is the virus in which the secretions of the warts can have an affect on the baby. (.I.E: it's vision)

i was totally boggled by this and found it amazing that she would be able to vaginally deliver with her condition.

It is common, and very preventable. But nobody is perfect and everybody makes mistakes. Wink

keep us updated!!

I had this, and it was abnormal cells that could of been cancerous tissue. I got a biopsy done, where they get under the micrscope and put vinegar in your cervix, and the abnormal cells turned white. He clipped a piece and tested it and it was in fact cancerous tissue, and my doctor said that some women get this because of being pregnant and most of the time it will usually go away or they'd have to get it cut out after birth.

Mine ended up going away after my son was born, but my mom has had it done and i'm pretty sure you can't be pregnant when you get it done

Wow! There is a lot of misinformation regarding .H.P.V and cervical cancer. Let me tell you a few facts:

an abnormal pap does not mean you have cervical cancer. How do I know this? Because I had cervical cancer.

An abnormal pap means there are abnormal cells on your cervix which can have many causes, the most common cause is .H.P.V. The high risk strains of .H.P.V can lead to cervical cancer if not treated. The lower risk strains of .H.P.V cause genital warts. You can have both strains of .H.P.V at the same time.

An abnormal pap should not affect your pregnancy and they may take a watch and wait approach since you are pregnant.

There are an astronomical amount of people who carry .H.P.V and do not know it. Doctors do not test for .H.P.V as part of their routine because there is nothing that can be done for it at this point. The body can rid itself of .H.P.V on it's own. Some women who have .H.P.V never get cervical abnormalities.

There is no test for .H.P.V in men which is why it is so prevelant. Men can have it, carry it around and pass it to you without ever knowing it. If you have had more than one partner in the past 10 years, you could have gotten .H.P.V from any of them. Same goes for your partner, if that is the only person you have ever been with.

Trust your doctor, go in for regularly scheduled pap smears and testing. You should be fine.
