Q: Ankle Question

Hi,

some time back I started having a problem with twisting my left ankle, maybe it's always been vunerable from a childhood injury. Anyway when on a patch of rough ground, pavement etc it would twist and roll over, something we've all done.

But this seemed to have started a weekness and then would happen again and again. I found if I could help it somewhat by wearing some boots that gave some ankle support but this was not quite always enough and as soon as went back to a normal shoe it was only a mater of time before I did it again. Eventually, I plucked up couraged and saw a doctor about it who decided that the ankle and muscle is severly weakened and has refered me to an orthopedic specialist. She says I need to be treated before any further damage is done and just wearing normal boots might not be adaquate.

So I would realy like to know what the possible treatments for this might be? I want to go to the clinic with some understanding of what they -might do. Any advice?

Laura
