Q: Symptoms Getting a Lot Worse

First I want to say thanks to all the helpful answer i've gotten before.

The last week something dramatic has happened with my jaw, before it was "liveable" symptoms, the popping when opening wide, some pain, some weird noises etc.
Now the last week whenever I chew, even if it's a rasin, or what ever my jaw is clicking like 50 times.
When I close my mouth it feels like my jaw bone is moving inwards and I can really feel it moving 2-3 seconds before it settles down and hear it moving.
It's hard to explain but, it's totally insane and I can't imagine even trying to live without being able to talk, chew, swallow, breathe normally or anything at all.
This happens everytime I open my mouth 1-2 mm.

I this normal with tmj, anyone know anything I can do to stop it ?
Is there a way back or is it permanent like the rest of my old tmj symptoms?

Hello,
you need to totally rest your jaw as much as possible (just like a knee) for a while. A liquid or soft diet is a must. I can't tell you how long "a while" is for sure but at least 2 to 4 weeks. Physical therapy, I believe, is an important must do at this time also, as well as, no or little talking (again, for a while).

Are you wearing a good bite splint? You sound like you are grinding your teeth at night and you need all the help you can get to stop this. A strong medication at night while you sleep might help. Ice and/or moist heat directly on the jaw joints is great.

There seems to be a theory that sleep apnea and tmj may be closely linked. I would recommend getting checked for sleep apnea.

This all I can advise at the moment. Your posting sounds like you are stressed, duh! You must get rid of any and all stress even if that is a drastic change (i.E., changing jobs, etc.) I hope you get some relief soon.

God bless...
Carol

Re:
Hello there,
unfortunately, there is no miracle solution to cure tmj.
However, I found this website on which I downloaded some relaxing excercises. Here is the site:
it really helped me. I am not saying my pain totally went away but I feel much better.
I hope this will help...

I understand there will never be a pill or so that will just remove the tmj .
But
is it possible to ever be 100% good again?Reverse the problem?
I'm desperate at getting this done as soon as possible as I feel it's getting worse and worse which also means it'll be harder and harder to "cure"

also I didn't see your link to the site u talked about?
