Q: Fainting During Pregnancy

Sorry, I haven't had my doctor's appt. Yet so I will ask this question when I see him. Has anyone fainted during pregnancy? I almost faint about four times a day. Most of the time, it's when I stand up. If I stand up slowly, it is a little better but it's still there. I almost blacked out a few minutes ago. It's kind of freaky.

I wouldn't doubt it if I am dehydrated. How do you remember to drink water? I am such a scattered airhead!! My normal blood pressure is 95/60 or something like that, so it's normally low so I am wondering if it suddenly decreases even more when I stand up.

Hey this happened to me alot in early pregnancy and still does occasionally. The doctor just told me to make sure I was getting enough protein. So make sure you eat things throughout the day the keep you fueled up!

Could be due to two things

lack of iron(meaning iron-deficiency anemia)

or

the rise and lowering of blood pressure, which most commonly occurs during the 3-6 months pregnancy

talk to your dr though!

Hey check with your doc...Fainting is normal esp when standing, getting up from bed,and a prolong standing up can really cause you faint. Its bec you lack oxygen or oxygen that you breathe is not enough..Remember that you are breathing for two...Slowly get up, stand up...Drink lots of water and stay on a room that is ventilated, dont stay long under the sun,eat healthy meals...And get rest....

I agree with diamond..

I mean I had a bad um dizziness spell in my first trimester.. And it was iron .. Lack of it.. And I was dehyrdated .. Due to my case of morning sickness.. So what you should do is keep yourself hydrated and go to the doctor and talk about the fainting spells.. Ya know it isn't good. So.. Hope you can get answers from the doctor..

I dont know why it is, but whats being siad sounds reasonable, I get dizzy/faint a lot, its because I have low blood pressure a mineral disorder and I dehydrate extreamly fast (if I dont drink at least a glass of something every hour I get dehydrated, I go to bed fine wake up severly dehydrated, that kind of thing)

the best way to remember to drink (for me at least) is always always always carry a bottle of water with you where ever you go, always have a bottle of water in your sight
