If you cannot walk on it...I would highly suggest it. Maybe it isn't broken, but they should have wrapped it or something.

Broken ankle
My left ankle was broken on Jan. 3, 2009 slipping and falling on the ice and snow. The first surgeon placed two pins and a plate in the ankle. My ankle was infected and did not feel that good, went for a second opion. A foot and leg specialist performed surgery removing the pins and plate, placing three plates and plenty of metal across the top of the foot to keep it together. They are telling me that another surgery is needed as a result of the ankle not healing correctly. I already feel like a woman with a metal foot, or bino ( spelling it incorrect) what would recommended doing.

Both side of left ankle with no three plates, and metal across the top of the foot.
