I suffer from spondylilothesis gd.3 ,over 51% slip on the l5. I have chronic pain from my lower back that extends through the buttock and down the calves to the ankle. If my body is jarred, pushed or my footing slips I have extreme jolting pain down the legs, mostly the right, with loss of balance. My question, is this a common symptom or reaction when the body is pushed or jarred suddenly? And if it is, is their any web-site or literature I can get to prove that this is for real? I am scheduled for a fusion of the l4,l5,s1 with pedicle screws to my pelvis and inter-body cage. People not in this position tend to think its an over reaction, but is deffinatly not.

it is common symptom of trauma. When pelvis becomes twisted (sijd) it causes twisting force to lumbar spine. That causes spondylolisthesis.

Treatable yes. Not a disease even all the doctors claim it is... No need to have a surgery. Skilled manipulative treatment is enough. If he knows about sijd...

Spondylolisthesis
I have 50% slippage as of 2007 but was diaganosed in 1988. Was told that I could of had it for years or been born with it. I am tired of the pain through out mainly the years since 88. I fell in november and jarred my back causing the slippage to be 50%. I"m going to see a orthopaedic Dr. Feb.1st. I can not sleep in bed only in a recliner, almost to the point of wanting surgery so I can be normal again. I want to lift my grandkids, I can't even take care of my 17 month grandchild-and that's one of the hardest. Have any of you had surgery?

Re: Spondylolisthesis
Spondy can be cured by correcting tilted pelvis that is causing extra lordosis and that is the cause of spondy. Just go to a manipulative specialist and ask them to check your sacroiliac joints if they are malpositioned...

I had a lateral gutter fusion/lamenectomy 16 years ago after injury finally pushed the floating vertebra forward compressing my spinal cord. I have had residual chronic pain since then, however the fusion was solid and remains so, the pain is often unbearable. I have not been on pain management as the companies doctors say since my mri looks good and the fusion is solid on the x-ray my pain is just from further aging. I have all but gave up getting relief. I sympathize with anyone with chronic back pain.
