Q: Have I Done the Right Thing Cuz It Doesnt Feel Like It?

Okay I told the nurse that I keep making myself sick. I explained a bit and she told me she wouldnt tell anyone.
But the advice I got was to tell my parents. Thats the worst possible advice I could have asked for. If I tell my parents they wil go mad - and also everyone will know then - cuz my own mother is a gossiper.
Im really stuck now - I thought telling her would give me a boost on doing something about it. But now its made me more determined to keep it all secret and carry on.
Its getting worse and my control is going. Im frightened I cant keep doing this but this is the only thing that keeps me losing weight and makes me happy.
If I stopped I would be huge.
Please I need advise

Wow you and me share the same kind of mom, when I didn't eat everyone knew, so when we visited relatives I got strange looks, but yah if you didnt anyone to know you shouldnt have told someone but if u want to stop doing yah tell someone, I didnt want my mom or dad to know because I felt ashamed but like you it made me happy and feel good about myself, I stopped and got back to my normal weight but now im throwing up, is there something causing you to do this? Weight obessed? Bad life at school? Or what? You could always try dieting or find someone that will go work out, or reach out to a friend you can trust and talk to them about it but me I just keep to myself and write it all down, but yah let me tell you something if I teacher hears or is told your hurting yourself in anyway they have to tell someone else, so yah you better watch out, there are some people you just cant trust, hehe im kinda two sided to it, keep it to urself or tell your parents, but yah I had my reasons to not tell me parents, my father said "i dont have time for your problems, and I dont need this and another daughter like this."

Telling your parents will be one of the hardest things you will ever do, but it will be worth it. I wrote my parents a long letter explaining everything to them, this way I could say everything I needed to say without interuptions. It also inabled them to kind of think about it before talking with me about it. I will admit the first few days after I told them I regretted it, because I was being held accountable for my actions. Now, I am very happy I have told them and it actually brought us closer together (since I had spent so much time keeping it a secret).

I had too felt ashamed and even felt like my mom wanted me to appologize for what I did, but I will not appologize to anyone for what I did. I am sorry if it hurts my mom, but I am not going to appoligize for having developed it.

Good luck,
keep us posted on how it goes!

You are really brave, girl. That's very good. Look, it may seem hard and bad now, but your parents will probably help you, specially because they probably have an idea of what's going on with you, since you've been to the hospital before..
