Hi,
I friend of mine went for abortion at the planned parent hood clinic. She wanted to have the medication abortion (pill), however, when she went to the clinic, the doctor said that the child is too big to go for the pill procedure, surgical is required. So, she hand to come the next day to get that treatment.
Now for the question:
their website this about medication abortion (pills):
"available during first 49–63 days of the first trimester"

now does it means that she had already crossed the 9 weeks of pregnancy? I mean I thought she was in her 5th week, that can't be possible?
Moreover, how do you count pregnancy weeks, from that time the person had sex (which impreganated her), or from the last day of her previous menustral cycle.

Example:
lets say a girl got her cycles over on the 23rd of oct 2006. She had sex on the 30th of oct 2006. Now lets say today (dec 01) how many weeks is he pregnant.?

Thank you for any help,...

Pregnancy is not counted from when you had sex, but when your last normal period was.

Surgical is often much easier than baoriton by pill, the pill takes hours and days to complete, surgical is done in 5 minutes. She can also be put to sleep for abortion, but you have to ask and see if they offer this.

Recently there have been many doctors not offering abortion by pill past 7-8 weeks, because of a higher risk of it not working at all.

this is a list of abortion clinics all over... If she wants, she can be put to sleep pr have iv sedation so she would feel no pain. You can look at this site to find clinics which offer this.
