This has nothing to do with allie, although it is related to the topic of apologizing. Do you believe an apology has to be sincere to accept it? We were raised that it was better not to apologize than to lie and say we were sorry if we really weren't. As a result I don't accept insincere apologies. I also don't give them. An insincere apology is an insult. Anyone else think this way or just our family?

And before anyone says anything sideways to me, reread the first part of this post. As a matter of fact i'll copy it here again. This has nothing to do with allie.

i agree with you.

One of my pet peeves is the person who apologises and then follows it up with a "but" like, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings but....Blah blah blah, after the "but" I know it is insincere.

i was responding to the previous poster who was just speaking about apologising in general.....I in no way intended for my post to seem as if I was scrutinizing allie's apology nor was it intended to seem like I was ignoring allie's post by going a bit off topic.

If anyone was offended or hurt by my post, I apologise because it was not my intent.
