I was wondering if anyone has heard of this condition. His ana was 160:1 which is slightly high. He has been to rheumatologist for testing for lupus. All test came back negative. Dr. Says he just has a false positive. His iga? Is low so the allergist says it is not an allergic reaction. We have had every blood test our family gp can think of. Everything shows nominal numbers. We took him to cardiologist and had complete echo study done, all fine. It just came on in august 2003 no reason. The usual triggers, sunlight, exercise, food, chemicals, stress does not fit problem. He did have a upper respiratory infection last month and he was on antibiotics (z-pac) and his skin seemed to clear up. Does anyone have any ideas? Please help it is worrying me to death.. Crying or Very sad

Possible Solution
I read your strings and hesitated to respond until I could say for sure that I think there is a natural solution. My friend experienced a very similar set of events. She was put on all types of drugs that helped one area, but then caused other problems. I too looked everywhere for a solution for my friend.

I was introduced to an all natural juice, yes I said juice, that I was told could help my friend. It was called 'tahitian noni juice'. I researched this juice and found that there were several noni juices out there, however, tahitian noni juice was the only one that I found in the physicians desk reference (pdr). The pdr is sometimes referred to as the doctors bible. I found it in the 2003-24 edition. It also stated that it had no adverse side effects, and could be dranked with any other type of medicine. It has also helped conditions such as cancer, arthritis, diabetes, allergies, high blood pressure,....Just to name a few. In your son's case, it can be administered by also rubbing some directly on the rash.

I ordered a bottle and had my friend to try it. I was told that it worked at different speeds with different people. My friend said she started feeling a difference about the 3rd week after she started drinking the juice. Today (approx 5 mo. Later) my friend seem to be back to a normal state. The doctor took her off all of her other medication and she has not had any relapse since she started drinking that tahitian noni juice.

I eventually signed up as a distributor so that I could get the juice cheeper. I did this so that I could also start drinking it. It really has given me so much energy and the little arthritic pains I had in the past are all completely gone. The doctor eventually ask us what my friend was doing and she told him she was drinking this tahitian noni juice. He said he had heard some of the things it would do but had never tried it.

My friend is now my wife and we will forever drink this tahitian noni juice.

May god bless you and good luck Wink

Re: My Son Has Had Hives
Urticaria could occur due to irritation or by contact with things which can be allergic. Like the mattresses, bedspreads, carpets, clothes etc. If there is a relief of the condition due to antibiotics it could be because of secondary infection associated with the skin allergy.
When the child develops hives what are the predominant symptoms? Itching? Swelling? Redness? Feels better by cold/warm applications? Better in the fresh open air? How is his thirst, urination, bowel movement, perspiration, sleep etc.? Is the child irritable? Homeopathic medicine has good remedies like apis mel, natrum mur, urtica urens, dulcamara, bovista, etc. To give relief during the attack and see that there is further recurrence of similar episodes. I am sure homeopathy would be of help to the child.

I've Also Had Hives For 4 Months +
I definately feel your frustration. I am 24, and I have had hives now for more than 4 months. Initially, they were an every 3rd or 4th day thing, but for the past 5 weeks they have been every day. It can be very embarrasing. They are so obvious, ranging in size from a pencil eraser to a quarter, and sometimes they join together in big groups. They itch like crazy, and although anti-histamines help a bit, they don't make it go away. I've also had swellings in my lips, chin, eye region, and hard lumps on my forehead. Is this something your son has had? I've been tested for 50 foods by an allergist, with no luck. On two different blood tests, 6 weeks apart, I had elevated levels of ana, and was finally refered to a rheumatologist. My appointment is tomorrow, and althogh I don't want to hear that I have lupus or any other auto-immune disease, I desperately want an answer and a solution.

Extremely eHealthy
Tested for foods but what about smells - my daughter is highly allergic to even the smell of anything petroleum (gas) based - while I react to certain smells badly too. ?? Think about how your body (stomache) reacts to certain smells or whether there are any new plants(or furniture - my daughter broke out allergic to her new bedroom furniture - it was 6 monhts of detocification before she could go back in!!) that came about the time this started??

Had Hives For 4 Months......was Nuts
For some reason shortly after christmas 2002, I started buying nuts from cosco. Ya know, the nice container of kirkland mixed nuts. Found myself always snacking on them and then one morning it started, just a couple hives at the base of my back, well really a bit lower. It would happen almost every day and started to become more severe by the week.
The worst morning was when I woke up with my face swollen. Clarinex worked very well to repress the hives and I also began to analyse my lifestyle and the only thing different was those nuts. I stoped the nuts, and I began to notice I needed the claranex less often. I even went to the ucaria (sp) center in charleston, sc did the 50 alleregen test and came up with nothing. I am almost positive it was the nuts or something that was in the nuts. Btw, tests for nut allergys came up negative.

I had hives for 1 1/2 year. It took me an insane amount of research, and I finally solved it. Afterwards I used the same technique, so far on my count 9 people have completely gotten rid of chronic urticaria/hives.

Do the following.... No medicine needed. The cause is "detergent residue" and most people in their life time are not commited enough to solve it. Follow these techniques, it has not failed once.

1.) get rid of all your clothes. Throw them away or put them in a plastic bag air tight. You'll likely never wear them again.

2.) buy all new clothes. Preferably loose instead of tight. If you are budget strapped, buy just enough full sets of clothes for a 2 week rotation only.

3.) buy a new bath towel. Only use this one.

4.) get rid of your bed sheets and blankets. Buy new ones.

5.) before you do laundry, pre rinse 1 cycle with just water.

6.) when you do laundry, don't use any detergent. Use baking soda only. The hard part is making sure the people who share machine with you don't use detergent either!!!!

7.) now wash everything you bought a couple times with baking soda only. Towel, bed sheets, clothes.

8.) only wear your newly purchased clothes, all cotton. No polyester.

9.) only sleep on the bed with the new bed sheets.

10.) exercise daily enough to sweat the existing residue off. If you can't workout and sweat, take a detox bath. Make sure the bath tub is detergent free. No trace of any chemicals etc.

11.) wipe any furniture/couch/chair you might have very clean. Detergent residues are practically invisible.

12.) I have not met one person who was not cleared of this problem after 4-6 weeks. 4 weeks if you are committed!!!!
