I remember the first and only time I went to the er when I was having a panic attack.. I didn't know what was going on, they didn't know what was going on, and it didn't really help when nothing showed up medically wrong and I thought I was dying. So I saw a lot of things on here about people taking a couple trips to the er for things like this, and does it really even help at all? It doesn't seem like there's a lot that they can do for you.. Confused

I went to the urgent care once complaining of difficulty breathing.. I told the doctor that I thought it was due to axiety and that I have a history of panic attacks... So what does he do? He orders tons of test all of which come back normal and basically dismisses me. It depends on the doctor. When you go to the er it's a crap shoot. You get whoever is there. If your primary doctor is not listening to you get a new one. Find one that will look beyond test results. Panic attacks are not going to come back in blood work or show up on a chest x-ray. I think if you really feel the need to go to the er during an attack then make sure you tell them that you have a history of panic/anxiety disorder so they don't waste thier time and yours doing a bunch of unndeed tests.
