I have been taking loestrin24 fe for about 3 months now...I have had very light periods but now I havent had one at all...Like no spotting at all.
Is this normal.
I did have sex a few days before my period was suppoused to come and I dont know how early you can take a preg test after sex. I am very worried. I didnt use a condom...He did however pull out but I had no idea about pre-cum. Please anyone who has any thoughts on this please please tell them.
Thanks to all with replies!

Extremely eHealthy
The new pills with a 4 day placebo week have caused many women to lose their periods alltogether, good for some, worriesome for other women.

When your period is due, you can take a pregnancy test.

Because of this new pill though, it is normal. You may even have some bleeding or spotting in the next pack, for a few days or so.

I have the same exact problem! I've been on loestrin for 3 months, before that I was on orthotrycyclin and always got my period. The first month on loestrin I got my period very lightly for like a day and then last month I got a little spotting for a few hours and now this month, nothing! I've had sex a couple times with my live in boyfriend and we dont use condoms so I am a bit worried but i've heard its completely normal to not get your period. How nerve racking!!! So....I just want to make sure from others that i'm not the only one missing their period on this pill Confused

Normal
I've been doing my research on this as well because I haven't had my period for 2 months now. I DEFINITELY am not pregnant, so I'm not worried about that, but it looks like many women are not getting their period anymore, or are just getting it every few months like me. I've been on Loestrin for a year and I think this is the 5th or 6th month that I've not had a period. I'm not complaining!

I have also been in loestrin for over a year. My periods vary, some months are heavier than others and some months just spotting. I've only skipped a period once in the past year or so. I freaked out and took a test that was negative. That was several months ago. So, hopefully this is normal bc im experiencing the same thing!

Normal
I am also taking loestrin and have run into the same problem! I was on orthrycyclin before but haven't been on the pill in a long time. I had a son and wanted to get pregnant pretty quickly with my second so in between them I did not go back on anything. My daughter is now 6 months and I have been on this pill for about 4 months and my flow has gotten progressively lighter each month. This month I didn't even have a period.... needless to say I was freaking out! I DEFINITELY did not want to be pregnant again! I took a test and I am not pregnant so I am thinking that it is just the pill. Thought I would share because I know I was completely going crazy and never realized that it could be the pill taking my cycle away. Thanks for all the info- it was VERY helpful and comforting knowing that there are others that have experienced this!

I have been on Loestrin for 4 months now. The first month I had a period for a day and that was it. I haven't had a period for 2 months now. I like that, but it is hurting my relationship with my boyfriend because I'm scared to have sex with him, because I'm worried since I don't have periods that I could be pregnant. And pregnant tests are not cheap by any means. I have already took 3 test and all have been negative. I'm tired of buying the test. So I know how you all feel

Talked to my gyno - it's normal!
I've experienced the same situation with Loestrin24fe. I called my gyno after missing my period on the second pack - she assured me that this was normal. She explained to me that the lining in the uterus does not build with this pill so there is nothing to shed. Hence, the missed period. She also told me that if it was concerning that I could take a pregnancy test each month. I'm going to give Loestrin another month to see how I like it because she also told me that if it was stressful to not get a period that I could decide to try another pill. However, the reason I'm on Loestrin is b/c other pills I have tried have caused very large blood clotted periods. And, without being on the pill I get cramps that basically leave me having to take days off from work and lay in bed on a heating pad. SO, one more month to determine if the stress is worth it. My insurance doesn't cover much so I'm paying about $50 a month for the pill. Another $10 for a test each month is really dipping into my wallet! Men seriously have no idea!!! Ha. Smile Good luck ladies!

I was on an off brand pill before Loestrin24fe my periods only lasted maybe a day if that! I told my doctor and he said it was very normal and a good sign, that it meaned the pill was doing it's job. Now with Loestrin24fe my periods are even lighter, the 1st month it was pretty normal for me maybe a day or two, the next month half a day, the next month maybe 4 hours! This month I spotted once but cramped for a full day. Anyway this was all very comforting, I'm going to see how much I like this, the stress is enough sometimes to switch but I'm always very careful with my boyfriend and due to some pain issues we've not had sex in a month and a half, that a whole other story I need to get fixed! But anyway I'm not pregnant and I kind of enjoy the whole not having a period, after I get over the initial stress of it all!

Loestrin24Fe
I also started on Loestrin24 3 months ago and this month I did not have my period. It is good to hear that is normal but is this healthy not to have your period for months?

This made me feel much better. I have been off and on with my periods on Lestrin24 for almost a year and a half.. I have been taking it for three years and my periods have gotten lighter then just stopped. Although every few months I will get one. I do have unprotected sex sometimes so not having it drives me hay wire and stresses me out. I talked to my doctor and she said it was fine not to get them because the birth control prevents your linear from forming so you dont have anything to shed. Its just nerve racking not to have it because I have to take a pregnancy test which in part is my own fault. Im just happy to see that Im not the only one that tends to stress over such a matter. thanks everyone Smile
