Q: Effexor....

I have been on 75 mg of effexor now for about 3 months. I feel no changes in my mood. I would like to increase it to 150 mg. Does anyone have any opinions on effexor. As of yet, it hasn't seemed to really help with my depression or anxiety. I have been on prozac, zoloft, wellbutrin, and paxil in the past. Nothing seemed to really help.

Effexor
Hi,

i too am on effexor and we found it wasn't helping everything. So, my psychiatrist decided to supplement me with wellbutrin. So I take 225 mg of effexor in the evening and 150 mg of wellbutrin in the morning. For me, this is the best combination so far. Might be worth a mention to your doc. Good luck!!

Effexor: Weird Symptons
I just started taking effexor 3 wks ago. I'm always tired, dizzy, and I wake up many times during the night. The rx says it takes 6-8 wks to notice any changes. I don't see how something that make me tired all the time is going to help out my situation.

Weird Symptoms
If your having trouble sleeping with it are you taking it in the evening? If so try taking it in the morning. It's suppose to give you energy. Dizzy spells should where off in a while.

Effexor
I have tried celexa and now am taking effexor. It took me a few months to get used to it and I had to experiment with different times that I would take it. I now take it at night because it helps me get up in the morning. When first taking it at night time you will not sleep well and possible wake up several times. This does go away. You also have to experiment with the different dosages. Do not stop taking this abruptly!!! I did try once to get myself off of it and it is not possible without horrible dizzy spells and feeling horrible physically. Always seek your doctor's help when changing your dosage or quitting. I have not experienced any weight gain although I think it is helping more with my depression than my anxiety. I take 150mg. A day as of now. Anyone else have any info? I would love to hear it!! Smile
