I don't have a dog! Sadly. I live in an apartment building that doesn't allow pets (or children, not sure what i'm going to do about that one yet, ha). I watch this guy's great dane annie though, and I like to think she's sort of mine. I don't think she can tell because she goes nuts and jumps all over me, and is really rough. But I was at my friends house the other day and her golden retriever has never liked me, but this time she licked me and laid her head on my belly and was really nice and gentle with me, so I maybe? Before I would try to call her and she'ld just look at me and put her head the other way all snotty . I loveeee dogs.

Aww, that's so sweet .Tanya!!! I love when pets act like little sucks... It's adorable!

Oh and I would check on their policy on 'no children' allowed. In .Ontario, if you sign a lease which states 'child(ren)-free' you are not bound by that. Check your landlord & tenants act in your city.

thats weird tho, maybe dogs can sense it. When I was about 7 months pregnant with lucas, this 4 yr old who had autism walked upto me n put his hands gently on my belly and had a look on his face like...I dunno. Yeh he likely did it cos it was a big belly sticking out but it felt weird like he could see the baby...Or something he couldnt even talk so he had no clue what a pregnant woman meant etc.

just cause he cant talk doesn tmean he cant listen, if his parents explained pregnancy he probably does know what it is, autistic children are highly intellegent, they just cant communicate it, sorry im just a little weird when it comes to this, my doctors thought I was autistic when I was little, boy were they shocked when I started talking

but on the topic, all animals have exteamly high sences (thats how they can tell if bad weather is comming and stuff) so I wouldnt be surprised if dogs can sence someone is pregnant.

I think some dogs can. There are dogs that can smell illness/cancer on people who are suffering with it.

When you are preggo, you release a lot of hormones. I would like to think that if a cat can do it a dog can!

I work with a young woman with autism. She may be challenged in some areas, but she is definitely smarter than the average in other areas. I think she almost has a sixth sense about some things. She is so much fun.

Well I knew him. He wasnt some random kid i'd just met, and he didnt understand hardly anything at that point.

ok well thatss different, the way it sounded was it was some random kid off the street, but still I wouldnt assume too much when it comes to autism ^_^

i'm in manitoba mich! I don't think it will be a problem because there was a family living here with two kids, both elementary school aged though. Someone also had a cat and someone else had a little dog, and they didn't get in trouble. Also, when we moved in here we had a different landlord who told us those rules and we have a new one now. There are only 6 suites in my whole building. It's like a mini apartment building, but it's nice, we have two bathrooms!

My dad's girlfriends son has autism. He walks around collecting black plastic things. He loves my eye lash curler, the the door stop. He's six. He doesn't talk, but he looks at things around my house and has this look on his face like the wheels are turning in his little head. He gets scared really easily. He was playing with my remote control and changed it to a channel we don't get that was all grey, fuzzy, and loud and got really scared. When he's scared he just stands still and covers his eyes with his arm. It's cute, but it's also really sad.

Nope I dont think so. We have a chesepeake bay retriever- very intelligent dogs,and he didnt treat me any different, he even continued body slamming me at full force, boy did that piss me off!

And we have two cats, and I dont think they sensed it either.

I have a pitt bull and an .American bulldog and they definately knew I was pregnant.
I made it a point to have them lick my huge belly and repeat 'baby in the belly' over and over.
My belly got huuuuge and they used to *watch* .Nana move around in there! It was insane!

Now they have a new best friend!!! They love .Nana soo much!!!!

When they first met, she was only known as "baby in the belly"!!

I think dogs would know more than kitties though. I don't think kitties care enough...At least mine doesn't....She's very unsocial to others.

My dog definitely knew something was up. He became very different with me during the last 2 months of my pregnancy. He became super affectionate and started snuggling with me and trying to sit on my lap all the time, or he'd just sit next to me and rest his head on me. Now that the baby is here he doesn't do any of that anymore. He's too busy smelling finn's hair.

Ever since .I've been pregnant, my kitties have been extra nice &snuggly. I don't know if it has anything to do with me being pregnant, but they seem to sense that something is different.

My puppy goes mad at my stomach barking and snapping etc I don't know if it's just because he's a puppy or not but i'm pretty sure cats can my sisters cat who hates being held runs down the stair when I come in and sits on my lap, purrs and rubs itself over my stomach it's kind of sweet really

Our family cat attacked me and my friend when we were 5-6. Yes, I said cat.

I did declaw .Jay(our family cat now) for that same reason. He's an inside cat and has never been outside, otherwise I wouldn't have.

I always watch those .Animal .Cops shows on animal planet. &.They always make me cry. I love animals so much. Every kind of animal. &.To see them being mistreated &abused &starved is so heartbreaking.

i watch that too! Its really good the work they do.

i can't watch that show, it's much too sad. We call it "the sad puppy show".
