Q: Sex After C-section...

I know there are a few of us who recently had c-sections for the first time and I just wanted to give a heads up...

Sex after a c-section hurts!

I got the go ahead from my doctor at my 2 week pp appointment but we didn't do it until last night, which was 1 day shy of 3 weeks pp. Well, I ended up making nick feel like the worst guy in the world because I actually started crying afterwards. Even if you think you're taking it easy and not doing much, you're still straining those abdominal muscles. I felt like I was ripped open for a few hours after.

So yeah, not so much fun.

And I still feel terrible for crying but it's like I couldn't hold back.

I had a vaginal delivery and was told to wait 6 weeks before sex. My doc said to wait even longer if I had a c section...
Giving the okay at 2 weeks pp just seems like way too early!

I can' t believe your doc ok'd it after 2 weeks , it should be at least 4 if not more weeks after c-sec before sex again. Even then, it hurts. Even now 17 months later it still hurts in certain positions. I guess cause of the scar.

Chase when did you have the babies?????

I thought it seemed early too but figured she's the doctor. She said as long as I wasn't bleeding we could go ahead with it, she just said to know my limits, take it slow, and stop if it was uncomfortable. It wasn't until we were finished that the pain hit and it was bad for a few hours. I feel fine today though.

17 months later it still hurts sometimes?! That makes me sad...

Because you've recently been sliced open?

It wasn't vaginal pain, it was the incision. Well, my outer incision felt fine, it was my interior stuff.

Mine's a little below the hairline. I was surprised at how low it actually is.

My incision is just above the hair line.
The car ride home made me want to cry. We didn't even attmept anything until...Hmm, a very long time after .Adriana was born.
I was given the go ahead at my 6 week pp check up. But .I was still too chicken.

Man,i hope whenever I have a kid that I can do it vaginally,i would *hate* to have a c-section unless it was absolutly necessary!

Why did most of you have c-sections anyhow?

I had a c-section because .Adriana was so big, and .I pushed for over an hour and she ended up going in reverse instead of coming out. Shocked

I was induced when I was 3 days overdue and after 14 hours of hard labor i'd only progressed by 1cm, he was also "sunny side up" and too big to come down so we had to do a c-section. After 14 hours of hell I didn't really care, I just wanted my baby out. All in all, it was a little traumatizing but it's all in the past now and I have my beautiful boy!
