I had a baby boy late last year at st joesph hospital denver, as well as 12 other couples that day. Of the 13 deliveries that day only 1 had a natural birth. What is the cause? Money. Hospitals across america are making more deliveries by c-section today than ever before. It is a simple procedure not unlike giving birth which may take many hours. But this is an operation and hospitals will profit more from these procedures. America is not alone though, at private hospitals in sao paulo brazil the caesarean rate remains a staggering 80% to 90%. That's roughly four times the overall rate in the u.S. Due to corruption though many of these women don't know it's not better to have a natural birth. Some even don't know about the scar it will leave behind. It's also far higher than the 5% to 15% caesarean birthrate considered to be an acceptable range by the world health organization. My question why aren't people talking about this? And instead of me calling 100 hospitals to find out what hospital has the lowwest c-section rate how else can I find out?
