Q: Unknown Problem.

About 11 days ago, I was having stomach bloating, dull stomach
pain, and dull pain in the lower right abdomen. This included alot
of burping and farting. I went to the doctor and he said that I had
symptoms of a gall stone. I had an ultrasound and it came back
negative for the gallbladder. Since then, i've been having lower back
pain, mild stomach pain, slight acid feeling in the lower throat on occasion, and dull lower right abdomen pain on and off. The gas and
burping is a little less than before, and the bloating is lower as well.

I'm suppose to go see the doctor again next week, but i'm concerned
as to what my problem is. I've been taking doxycycline for acne over
the past 8 months, and I just noticed that a side-effect from this is
gastro-intestinal disturbances. I've also drank alot of cola and eating
alot of greasy foods, etc.. Before this had happened. Also, I was
in a foreign country about 6 months ago, and took a drink of water
which made me dizzy for a few seconds.. Could it be bacteria?

Anyone with similiar problems, or any advice, or ideas as to what my problem is would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much.

this all sounds very similar... And in searching in what the problem is before going to the doctor I touched down here. My symptoms are very similar burping, farting, odd feelings in my stomach, over all yuck feeling, and maybe a bit of dis-coloring of my crap.

Logically I thought it could be a few things, but those feel things went further into variables, so i'm still unsure whats going on...

I don't think I need to go to doctor yet... It seems to be getting better...? Or is it?

I've narrowed it down to a few suggestions i've received... Bacteria? Allergic reaction? Food poision? Alsur? Stomach/intestine infection?

I need some help here! Respond!!!

Well, I went to the doctor and he has told me that I need
to get my gallbladder removed. I'm going to set-up an
appointment tomorrow with a specialist and see what
they say. The results of the hydascan pushed him to
think it is the gallbladder, but i'm wondering if other
problems can influence the results of the scan. My
doctor never took a blood test or anything, he just went
directly to the gallbladder and didn't check anything else.

Gallbladder???
Hey guys, I have all the same symptoms. It has been annoying because doc has treated me for hiatal hernia (i don't have one afterall) and then finally my gallbladder. All tests have shown normal. Egd, 2 ultrasounds, hida with cck injection. Also was tested for h pylori (bacteria) and negative.
My bloating stays with me most of the time. Sometimes, I can't even get my pants buttoned and I am a small framed gal.
The only thing that seems to help me is staying away from fatty foods, period!
Have you ever heard of irritable bowel syndrome?
Do you ever get severe pains under your breast bone, just below the "v"? Burping relieves the pain somewhat.
My uncle had his gallbladder removed and all of his tests were normal too. It won't hurt you to have it out. It really doesn't have much use besides storing bile which the liver can also do.

IBS
I have Irritable Bowl Syndrome and do get horribly bloated and sick if I eat any of my trigger foods. While they're different for everyone...people with IBS are definitely meant to avoid greasy foods. Some IBS diets also recommend avoiding red meats (one of my triggers), dairy, and not to eat raw fruit and veg unless you eat something else first. Multigrain-bran stuff can also make you feel ill if you have IBS. The only way to tell whether you've got IBS is really to radically change your diet and see if you feel better in a few weeks. Sadly, there's no test or anything, but I was diagnosed by my doctor. I also used to take peppermint capsules which helped when I was feeling really bad.
