Hi folks
ok. Its pneumonia. I'm responding well
to the antibiotics and I feel a whole lot
better than last week.
I had a follow up with the dr yesterday
and he told me I am now at greater risk
for getting pneumonia again!
Just a little history:
1st bout age 14, 2 weeks in hospital
this bout - age 39, no hospital stay
needed
he said the healed lung tissue is more
susceptible to infection than lung tissue
that was never infected.
My question is, how much more susecptible?
Are there any statistics?
Also, what precautions do I have to take?
We talked about a flu shot and a
pneumonia shot and i'm going to get both
of those.
We discussed deep breathing exercises - 10
deep breaths every hour and i'm doing
that.
But the bottom line is, I want to find out
everything I can do to prevent this from
happening again.
