Uhh has any one tried this? I just got it in my email from the babyfitmailer I have never heard of anyone potty training at 6months..

Elimination communication positions

elimination communication, or ec, is a natural, hygienic, and respectful way of meeting an infant's elimination needs- usually without diapers. The caregiver responds to the infant's signals, enabling the baby to eliminate into an appropriate receptacle, rather than into a diaper.

The recommended time to start ec is before the baby is 6 months old, but at that age, sitting on the giant cold toilet seat is an overwhelming task for even the most brave and coordinated baby. So parents who use ec utilize some basic positions to allow their babies comfortable access to the potty. These can all be modified according to your personal needs and preferences.

1. The front hold: hold your baby facing outward, in a seated position, their back against your stomach, with your hands firmly around their thighs. Bend with your knees (not your back!) to lower them to the potty or sink.

2. On the seat: you sit on the toilet seat together, you at the back and baby at the front, between your legs. This is great for babies who are unsure of the toilet.

3. The cradle hold: for babies who love to pee while they nurse, you can hold a receptacle under their bottom while they breastfeed, and cue them when it is in position.

4. The squat: older babies sometimes enjoy squatting on the toilet seat, provided you support them so they don't fall in!

what a load of crap.
How in the hell would you know when the baby has to pee? Babies pee tiny amounts all throughout the day.
Yeah, good idea, lets have the baby with no diaper on all day, thats real hygenic!

I saw that on tv....And laughed.

All the mommy's were chassin their naked babies around whilst they were plssing all over the place and the mommy would rush and throw them on a potty!!! It was insane!!

Poo poo, yea, I can definately tell when .Nana has too poop. I always could. But it doesn't mean that imma let her run around naked and sh't on the floor!!

What about at night time when they're sleeping??? That sounds *fun*!!! Ahahahaha!!

If it makes you feel more natural, go fo the terry cloth diapers. They're economical and cheaper than the disposable ones! There's a thread about it on the teen forum if i'm not mistaken!!

You're not crazy, i've heard of this. But you'd be crazy to try it!! Wink
it takes constant attention....

Yea.. I read that and was like woh.. No way. I cant believe women take the time and energy to do something like that.. Do they start to potty train on there own early? That would be something a walking one year old using the potty her/him self.. But unless you are a stay at home mom with a hell of a lot of free time on your hands.. I dont think is worth it.
