Dead Asleep After Sugar Cereal
Posted: 01-31-04 19:50pm

I fall dead asleep if I eat one bowl of cereal (you know, like lucky charms or any of those real sugary kinds). I even fall dead asleep if I have fruit w/ natural sugars. Is this something that could be related to diabetes? I have gained a hundred pounds in the last year, too, but don't know if that is worth mentioning to my doctor.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

You really have given no information as to what type of meds you are taking and what your diet is really like. If you are diabetic I don,t think you should be eating sugary cereal, could be after eating that your sugars sky rocket and you have that sleepy feeling. How on earth can your doctor not realize you have gained 100 pounds in the last year! Why would you let yourself get that heavy? Your health should be your number one concern especially if you have diabetes. Have you talked with a dietician about meal plans, please get on some course of action, get your blood tested first and see where you stand. Good luck sharon

Rolling Eyes please go see your dr and if he cant help you have him to refer you to someone who can!! Weightgain like you "ve had is not normal and could very well be caused by diabetes altho 100 lbs is quite dramatic even for diabetes
