Heyyy!
I'm naomi && i'm 15. I was
diagnosed with pcos on my birthday this
year [24th aug] && my doctor said
that I was the youngest case she'd seen.
Once i'd had the blood tests to confirm it
all, I had to have an ultrasound done.
Which showed that I had the cystic side of
the polycystic ovaries, because,
apparently, && I don't know if
this is true, but you can have polycystic
ovary syndrome without having cysts in
your ovaries.
At first, the whole thing kinda creeped
me out, but the more I thought about it, I
had, had it for years and not known, just
because I had found out, I shouldn't let
it bother me. One of my teachers helped
me do some research into pcos &&
we discovered that it could cause
infertility, doesn't mean it will though.
I'm still waiting for the proper treatment
etc, && i'm not going to be put on
the pill, my doctor said that in my case,
the pill wouldn't work. It probably would
be metformin that I would get. So far,
the symptoms I have are:
loss of menstruation (amenorrhea)
weight gain, particularly around the waist
line
hirsutism, which causes excessive hair
growth, especially on the face and body
acne and oily skin
decreased breast size
it was a kind of relief to be told that
the being over weight wasn't entirely my
fault, but in the past 12 months, my
breasts have decreased from a c-cup to an
a-cup. =[[[
i don't really know all that much about
pcos, I just know about what i've read
&& the experiences i've had so
far...
Hope that helped @@ least a little bit.
P.S does anyone know of any other
teenagers being diagnosed with pcos? -
right now I kinda feel like the lone
ranger about the whole thing =[[[
