Flaking skin is totally normal! Aly's skin peeled for like a month or so.

Not sure about the cord, sorry. Aly's never gave me any trouble.

Where's the peely skin? If it's on his head it could be cradle cap and that can be cured by using oil on his scalp when you give him a hair wash Smile

Finn's hands and feet just stopped peeling recently. I put aquaphor on them every day and baby lotion on the rest of his body after his baths.

I don't know about heat rash. Maybe some goldbond powder to keep it dry? I really have no idea, I don't even know if you can put goldbond on babies.

As for the cord, we didn't touch finn's except to blot it dry after sponge baths. We were told to leave it alone and it would fall off on its own, it fell off at 8 days and now at 16 days it's still a little bloody every now and again. I just wipe it with an alcohol swab every day or so.

I want to see more pics of reese!

Brayden had some cradle cap and if I were you I would not use oil, it made his so much worse... We eventually had to get a prescription from the doctor.

Peeling skin is normal but brayden never had that.

Bray's belly cord fell off in like a week and a few days maybe, his never had puss on it after it fell off. And about the blood on the q-tip I think thats pretty much normal

Oh...I just know someone who has a 2 month old and she's used oil on her baby's head and it's gotten much much better now Smile maybe it doesnt work for some people.

yeah, I think that's it because I know a few women that used it on their babies and it got much better aswell. Brayden had it pretty bad though so that's probably why!

My grandma bathed logan in baby oil (they didn't have flaky skin) and he ended up looking like they'd been dunked in a mcdonalds fryer! Rolling Eyes

Baby oil is actually bad for babies, though, especially if they happen to breathe the vapors in. Because of the complexity of the baby oil compound, it can actually cause babies, as well as adults, to asphyxiate.

It doesn't necessarily have to be baby oil being used...Could be just sunflower oil or a mild oil specially used for this sort of thing.
