My tonsils became very swollen about 1 month ago. The pain was immense, unlike anything i've ever endured. I took amoxcillin and it went away but they started to get swollen again a few days after the last dose of amoxcillin. So I was prescribed with cipro. The cipro was extremely strong and unforgiving on my stomach. Again, it went away, the swelling went down. A few days after the last dose of cipro it came back a third time. I was then prescribed with another antibiotics but I forgot what it was called. It was very expensive. I took them and finished them about a week ago. Now here I am again. My tonsils are yet again swollen! Why? I don't understand why it keeps coming back. I do not have health insurance and I cannot afford to buy anymore antibiotics. I have used so much money with the last 3 antibiotics. I was unable to go to work for a week the last time my tonsils were swollen. I can't afford to do that again. Do I need to get my tonsils removed? Will taking another round of antibiotics help? I'm getting really scared and I don't know what to do. I'm thinking of taking a round of penicillin. Please help me!
