Hey girls I was really bored so I decided to "deep clean" my daughter's room and I never reaized how much stuff I needed for her when she was first born and even now! So I decided to compile a list of some baby items you might want to get (im soo bored) and some of the things I had forgotten at first and ended up needing them...If anyone else has any ideas please add them.

-onsies
-socks
-newborn and size 1 diapers
-infant thermometer (rectal or pacifier type) remember rectal is always higher temp. So you have to minus a degree.
-infants tylenol (even though bottle says not under age of 2, you can give it to them when they are like 2 months old.)
-waterpoof lap pads (put them in bassinet or crib) otherwise you will be washing sheets all the time!
-receiving blankets
-bottled infants water with flouride (unless your breastfeeding)
-alcohol (for cleaning newborns umbilical cord stump)
-safety q-tips
-infant towels and wash clothes
-baby shampoo (johnson and johnsons lavender shampoo is awesome!)
-baby bath (johnson and johnsons bedtime lavender is great!!)
-diaper rash cream (johnson and johnsons no more rash 3 in 1 is great)
-sunscreen
-vaseline (for using rectal thermo. And dry skin on face)
-wipes
-pacifiers
-nasal bulb aspirator (hospital should give you one)
-formula (if not breastfeeding....And just incase)
-bottles, extra nipples
-bottle brush, bottle rack (they work well)
-glycerine childrens suppositories (for constipation, for infants you can cut them in half long ways. Only use for extreme constipation.)
-baby lotion
-nursing pads
-breast pump
-cream for nipples (if breastfeedig)
-burp clothes
-newborn caps
-newborn non scratch mittens
-infant clippers
-orajel (you will need for teething...Comes faster than you realize!)
-nightlite (real nice when they start to sleep in crib, so you don't have to turn light on in middle of night when they wake up)

well I could keep going all day. Any other suggestions feel free to add!

Do you have blankets..And a carseat....Or one of those bouncers with the vibrate thingy? (those can come in handy)

Few other things you might want to get are:

-saline nasal drops (can use on newborn..2 drops each nostril to clear up stuffy nose, then suck out with bulb aspirator)
-vibrating bouncer works great like someone had said
-swing (if you buy a portable battery operated one..Its much cheaper and works same)
-car seat cover if you live where its cold like me!!!
-baby bunting (ie: snowsuit, light sweaters)
-jordan mentioned mylicon...Yes that does work wonders!!!!
-something to put in crib that makes womb sounds (good for colicky baby)
-batteries!!!!! (it sucks when you run out of batteries at 4am when your baby wants to be in swing or bouncer!)

ohh a word to the wise on tylenol. My doctor told me that it really dosen't help giving it to a baby under 4-5 months. I have no clue why, but he said your just waisting money because it dosen't effect them. I beg to differ. I used it for my daughter and it seemed to help. It dosen't hurt to give it to them, but just "supposively" dosen't do anything.

Also a pharmasist had told me when my daughter was sick with a cold that I could give her "infants cold plus cough" of any brand. Well I found out your not supposed to do that either because "cold and cough" contains psuedoephedrine which is not good for young children. Not sure if my doctor is tottaly right on that..But just keep it in mind and maybe mention to pediatrician.

I am feeling alright, really tired and worn out. Alyssa is doing good, she is finally sleeping! She is so tempermental! If you hold the bottle wrong she starts screaming at you. Lol my mom said I was the same way and after about 3 weeks she will probably chill out. But everything is ok so far! How are you and your little one?

We are doing real good. Jayden's growing tooooo fast! She will be six months on the 7th. She can now pretty much sit w/out support. She is such a good baby. She takes like 3 naps during the afternoon and I just layed her down. So thats really nice. She will probably sleep for a good 2 hrs. She is already trying to crawl. Right now she basically pulls herself around with her arms, but drags her legs. Its quite funny!

Its pretty easy to remember to get everything. You go to the store when you are ready to be a mom, and your so excited you almost by all of target!! Its easy to go overboard!! And about the cord, I had to use alcohol swabs on his belly button and I had to use some type of jelly on his circumsicion...Life!!
