Q: What is best heart range to burn fat?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 15th, 2006
I have received conflicting advice from a number of different sources on the appropriate heart rate range within which to exercise and burn fat. Is it possible to get a definitive answer to this question. Here are my details:
age: 42, weight: 332lbs [weight loss in the last 11 weeks 40lbs with weight watchers] with a resting heart rate of 70-75bpm.

Many thanks.

Regards

jgr

According to your age (42), the reported resting heart rate (70/min) and the Karvonen formula the appropriate heart rate range for burning fat is between 140-162 beats per minute.
