Can someone tell me why it takes 6-12 months, give or take, for your hair to grow back to normal when it only took 2-3 months to cause the problem in the first place? I just dont get that.

I am currently going through this and its really aggrivating, frustrating and embarressing. Mine was a result of not getting enough protein, and skipping meals. I went vegan. Wasn't paying attention. My hair was fine in january, february, and march of 2006. I didn't see anything wrong with my hair besides the fact that my hair was getting duller after my short haircut in february and dead looking. Then in april, I got sick and had a fever of 101.2 and woke up to a whole bunch of hair on my pillow which then started this hair shedding crap. It's been about 6 months now and my hair is close to not shedding anymore. I do see some new short hairs on my head but nothing significant yet. I just dont get why it takes so long for your hair to regrow back to normal. I can understand your body shutting down and saving protein for your organs and all that. But you would think that your hair would grow back within a month or two.

Does anyone know anything about this?

I would appriciate it if someone could reply.

Thanks
sean
