Q: Nerve conduction failure to the leg
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 13th, 2006
last 12 months general weakness, mostly in legs. Finger, Toe, knee joints ache. Muscle tightness in arms. various 'odd' feelings in legs (between knee and ankle). Headaches (back of head), Neckches and overall exusted feeling. Had 2 MRI's (with & without contrast) Came out clean. Various blood tests including for Lyme. The only thing so far is low in B-12 and a couple of other 'vitamins'. 2 EMG's - fine. The Nerve conduction test, showed a failure in one leg of impusles making it to my ankle. Overall, it feels like im one big ache.

What test should I be getting next? My GP seems to be at a loss for words, and since i live 'on the road -and in the air', im rarely in place to set up long term appointments.

thanks

The next diagnostic procedure you can try is an X-ray image of the whole spine because nerve conduction test showed failure in one leg. Spondylosis could be the reason for your symptoms. If the X-ray confirms spondylosis, you may need to take an MRI of the spine to find out the precise location and type of possible lesion. You can consult a neurologist about your condition for further diagnostic help.
