Q: Inner ear disorder: hearing loud noise/heartbeat

For 14 yrs now I have had this noises in my rightear as if it were my hearbeat(actually it is ) anyway its gotton severe over the past 2 yrs, i have pressure and somtimes pain in my head and neck because of it. I have been to all kinds of doctors all tests including heart cath, MRA,MEI,CT scans of the neck and head and ulta sounds of the corotid artery, nothing everthing came back normal! I am stumped and so is the doctors can you help me? I am desperate! I have even cotimplated taking my own life as the noise is so loud sometimes and no on else can hear this but me escept when its loud once a nurse heard it. Thank god someelse heard it so i know I am not crazy Please Help.. dallyspot85@hotmail.com

Neurological Disorders Answer A1876
Severe tinnitus can be due to an inner ear disorder but hearing tests would indicate this. If the ear is ok, the next possibility is that you might be experiencing voice hallucinations. Voice hallucinations can be due to epilepsy or a psychotic disorder. You can request an EEG and consult a neurologist and/or a mental health professional.
