Q: Symptoms of Schizophrenia: hearing voices
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 12th, 2006
Am I scitzophrenic? I've always had these problems;

When I look at people I think I hear their thoughts..
I hear 3 other voices besides my own that tell me different things.

Now they're worse than ever.

Schizophrenia Answer A1867
The symptoms you describe are similar to symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia, but the issue is that schizophrenic people are not aware of their condition and they don’t ask for medical help (or questions) on their own. People diagnosed with schizophrenia are usually brought to a mental institution by force when their behavior becomes intolerable to their family or society. It seems likely that your condition is more neurotic than psychotic, but you can consult a mental health doctor for an expert opinion.
