Hello,

im feeling really bad, I went to my doc and he told me to just keep trying and gave me folic acid. Its been 3 years now and I really felt so stupid telling him as I felt he was looking down at me for being twenty. Ive done some stupid things but I know for a fact im ready and have the love, time and money for a child.

Can anyone give me advice as of where to go now.

This may not be advice so much as just a reminder that you need to take a deep breath and relax. I know it's easier said than done, but sometimes "trying" and worrying about it too much will actually stop your body from conceiving. Stress does a number on your body and it's amazing on what it can cause it to do, and what it can stop it from doing!!!!!
So many women that have tried and tried for a number of years, all of a sudden became pregnant when they actually stopeed trying and thinking about it so much.
Being only 20 is ok for wanting a child, but go and enjoy your life as well, and make the most of it and learn from the experiences you encounter. Trust me, I am almost 31 and I am trying to take a dose of my own "medicine" so to speak!!!!! I don't know if a woman is ever fully ready to have a baby......It's scary, excititng and a total change of life all at the same time. But, you are young, so you have a very good chance of becoming pregnant faster than some of us!!!! Live your life, and it will happen when your body is ready!
Good luck!

If you're really ready for it then I suggest changing doctors. Sometimes doctors let their personal beliefs get in the way of their job so if he thinks you're too young, he probably won't really help you out for a couple more years or until he thinks you are ready. Good luck hun!

I definitly think you should change doctors. Any doctor who says just keep trying when you have already been trying for 3 years doesn't have a clue. It doesn't matter how young you are, if you have been trying for that long some basic testing should be done at a minimum.

i agree with abbysmom, 3 years of trying should raise a red flag to the doctor regardless of your age, and he should be trying to find out what the problems are. Get a new doctor.

Has your dr ran any tests on you and your hubby or b/f? If he/she hasn't, I would think about seeing another Dr. I agree stressing about ttc does not help the situation.
Baby dust to you!

my advice is much the same as everybody elses! See if you can get an appt with another doctor, maybe just for a second opinion (if changing doctors will be difficult) ask for some tests to be run, when nothing was happening for me I had to demand to be referred to a gynae because no-one would listen to me! You and your partner need to be checked it could be something thats easy to sort!

Whatever you do dont lose hope! And its doesnt matter about your age, 20 is young but if you are in a stable relationship and you have a secure home and regular income why should anyone tell you otherwise! I had my first child at 19, I am now 24 and going for baby no3!!

Wow I wasnt expecting such a response, thanks every1.

I suppose I should leave it this month and relax about it all, which I have tried so many times and then go back to my docter and really explain to him my problems.

Thanks very much I will keep you all updated
