Mom and dad
mom liked natalie
dad liked talia
both have the 'allie' ('alie' and 'ali') sound in them so they decided on allie.

Both my mum and dad arrived at the decision to call me nicole, though my mum wears the trousers in their relationship so she probably had the last say :p they said if I were a boy i'd have been called nick, and funnily enough, the name nik (spelt like that) is a frequently used nickname of mine

My mom and dad did! Originally, they thought I was a boy so they had the name shawn ryan.. But I came out a girl so to improvise, they named me shauna rae.

Is it kia like mia? I've always read it as kia where the I sounds like eye.
I don't know why I read it as that, seeing as how the car company is pronounced kia where it sounds like key-a.
Anyway...

Lol I think of all the 'ia' names as 'key-a' sounding. With tia and gia it definately is.

Yeah it's pronounced key-ah. It's not my real name given by my parents, but it is a real name lol.
I abhor my real first name - it does not suit me, so in most instances I go by kia in real life too, have done for a good few years.

I have no idea.
I went by breeze for ages.
I just like the way kia looks and I like the sound.
In it's stricest sense it is said more like kier - rhymes with wier like in river...
But is most commonly said key-ah with the shorter ah sound.

My mom's first choice was to name me after her - davina but she thought I wouldn't like it, so she changed her mind
