Swollen Finger Due to Pregnancy
Posted: 11-11-06 14:45pm

Well, ok... I have such a problem... My fingers have grown so much... My wedding band is in my jewelry box and I bought a cheap $50 one to wear for the time being... Well, my engagement ring won't even go halfway down my finger so I can't wear it either! Well, it wouldn't be a problem except that my ring cost $4900 and I really don't like leaving it at home... The warranty on my ring covers free sizings and i'm thinking about getting it sized up but I wonder.... How long after I have my baby will my fingers stay big? Should I hold off a few more weeks and just pray that no one robs me? Or should I just go ahead and get it sized??

Couldn't you put it in a safe deposit at the bank for now.

You will probably lose a lot of fluid once baby is born. Right now just your blood supply alone has probably near doubled.

No don't get it sized! Fingers swelling is normal in pregnancy and it should go back down. I couldn't wear most of my rings during the end of my pregnancy but they all fit perfect now. Do you have a safe? Perhaps get a little safe if you are concerned

Do you live in a really bad area? My engagement ring was wicked expensive (and unfortunately it hasn't fit in about 5 months) but it never crossed my mind that leaving it home in my jewelry box wasn't a good idea.

What if you hid it somewhere that nobody would think to look if someone happened to break in?

Yeah, I had it at my office in the safe there, but I took it out because the auditors were rooting through the safe and I was nervous one of them would swipe it. I figured the swelling would go back down, but I have alot of swelling... My wedding band is a size 7 and the cheap one I bought to wear right now is a 10!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked where do you get a little safe to put it in?

you can seal things in a water tight baggie and pop them into the cistern of your toilet (the cistern is clean water), or tape it underneath a drawer bottom.

I don't know how expensive safe deposits are.
I'd just ask your local branch how much it would be to deposit your ring for a few weeks.

i live in the best part of town, but it's this side of town that the burglaries happen b/c it's where all the expensive houses are and I guess they figure we're the ones worth robbing..........
I thought about hiding it behind the big wedding picture I have on my living room wall. I thought about hanging it from the nail and then putting the picture over it. What do you think about that?
