Re: Yasmin & Acne
I just started Yasmin about 3 weeks ago (im almost at the white pills) and my skin has gotten worse! breaking out all over my forehead and some chin area. Is this normal? Will it get better or worse? I just dont know if i should stop now or give it more time. Did this happen to you when you first started it?
Any responses would be great.
Thanks

Completely the opposite with me. My face actually cleared up (but I didn't have zits to begin with just tiny pimples). I get the occasional zit around the time I get my period but other than that... nothing at all.

Although, I am starting to notice some hair loss. Especiall when I'm in the shower.

I am on my 4th month of yasmin. for the first month, i started getting little bumps all over my cheek and chin area. I have never had that before. Usually they were localized (ie. chin only, cheek only, forehead only). I was also extremely emotional during my 1st month on yasmin. For the second month, I started getting some cysts, lottts of blackheads, and the little bumps were still evenly distributed all over my cheeks and chin. By third month, I popped one zit on my chin, and that turned into cystic zits all over my chin. Currently, i still have the little bumps everywhere, i have new cystic zits on the bottom of my left cheek, one on my forhead, and the same ones on my chin that are slowly going down but are still going strong. Also, when I run my hand along my jawline, there are several zits, some cystic. I have never had zits on my jawline before going on Yasmin. Before going on yasmin, I had oily skin, a couple whiteheads, and thats about it. Now the texture of my whole skin is terrible, I have little bumps everywhere, lots of blackheads, and I have many cystic zits that are painful and hard to get rid of. After reading many posts on various forums, acne along the jawline and cheek area seem to be indicative of hormonal acne. Therefore, I think this Yasmin is throwing my hormones off whack. Just a prediction. Regardless, the fact that this has made my skin worst, after atleast 3 months (currently on my 4th), I am getting off this. I have some fears of increased cystic acne, which I have read in forums, that occur after going off Yasmin, but I am going to have to take that chance. I am going to see my ob/gyn this Wednesday, asking if I should take something else, otherwise, I'm going off bc completely.
