I don't know where you all live but that super flu has hit our city. Nathan was just discharged from the hospital this morning. We spent the last 2 nights there. He was hooked up to i.V.'s. What a night mare this has been. If your child ver needs a i.V. Don't go in why the nurses are trying to do it. It will break your heart!!..

Oh man!! I'm sooo sorry to hear that!!!

The flu is amost non existant in .New .Orleans right now...But i'm sure it'll make it's way down here.

Oni got her .Flu shot last month though, I need to go get mines Shocked

i guess who you let give an iv is all a mystery until they try.

If my child were to be going crazy because of a nurse, i'd refuse to let him/her continue. I'd have them call the anesthesiologist come and administer it. Period!!

I hope .Nathan gets better girl!! Yall will be in my prayers!!

Sarah

Aww, poor .Nathan!

.Jordan has had an .I.V once before, and they tried to give him another one not too long ago, but he fought it like hell and they couldn't get it in. I was there both times and it's a killer!!!!!

I hope he gets well soon .Sammy!!!!!!

It was tough, he was so dehydrated that his little veins were whizzled up to nothing. He has got 2 hole marks in his feet, 5 on one hand 3 on the other, and one on the inside of his wrist. I can remember being inl abour with him and getting one. It is hard enough when your an adult let alone a 18 month old baby. I remember when the nurse missed with me, and had to try it a second time. I can't imagine being him....I had to leave the room becasue he kept looking up at me while they were doing it, and all I could imagine, that he was thinking..."why are you letting them hurt me??"

Are iv's that bad? I remember getting them when I was small, I just remember a small pinch. Now that i'm grown they really don't bother me.... And .Chu doesn't notice the needles for the shots. Maybe it depends on who does it or something....

I live in germany so kinda glad, I hope it doesnt get here, me and hubby have never had the flu, what are the symptoms exactly? Can u get a flu shot 34 weeks pregnant? My son had rotavirus at 8 mths old, he had an iv in his hand , I didnt watch them put it in, he kept wripping it out though so they had to bandage his hand up and he kept twisting it so they had to keep fixing it but he was really sick and dehydrated I felt bad but the flu I couldnt imagine from what I hear it sucks alot

I am sooo sorry to hear about .Nathan I sure hope he gets better quick! I do not now if they have them there or not but if he needs an iv and the nurse should only try 2 times at the most and then should call for an iv tech, like I say, if they have them there or like someone said an anesthesiologist. My thouths and prayers are with him. The only thing about the flu shot is that they only help just a few types of the flu. I qquit taking them just lik others because they made me sooo sick afterwards, once I had to be hospitalized because of it.
