I am having a vaginl hysterectomy and a bladder sling. How long will I be off from work? I work in a garden center and do heavy lifting daily. Thanks for any help!

A minimum of 6 weeks is recommended to take off work.
After that you can resume light lifting (1kg) and gradually build up by 1kg (maybe 2kg depending) over a period of 6-10 weeks until you feel healed and your doctor clears you to resume normal activities.

This is an approximation not definitive.
The final answer will depend on you, how your surgury goes, how well you heal...

What I will say is that you only get one chance to heal properly, so don't screw it up.
I've heard from all too many ladies who did too much too quick only to either end up hospitalised, or who ended up with adhesions and on going issues which could have been avoided if only they had allowed themselves time to heal properly in the begining.
