Chest pain and vision/eyes Posted: 11-09-06 22:54pm
I actually have two so i hope thats ok.
Here's the first questian:
I have chest pains. Specifically a jabbing
pain at my left lung area everytime i
breath out deeply, if you know what i
mean. I dont know about you but thats
distressing and its making me worry. The
pain is like a needle jabbing in my lung,
or at least it feels like my lung. It
happens couple times before but it wasnt
as severe as todays or november 9, 2006.
It was really painful. I was hoping for
your opinion on this before going to the
doctors. And if possible is it treatable
with over-the-counter medication, if so
what?
Thanks and on two my second and last
problem:
This is the one that scares me most of
all. This was reaccuring every now and it
,I dont know how else to put it, scares
me. My vision, all of a sudden fades away
into blackness, and while this is
happening, i fell tingly. I also can
partially see, like looking through muddy
black water, or completly blind until it
fades away. It happened couple times
before, but it didn't last long, maybe 1-3
seconds, and i was able to partially see.
But now it lasts longer, like 5-7 seconds,
and couldn't see at all. This is scaring
me and i dont want my parents to worry.
This usually happens at night and/or when
i am moving. So like when i am walking
from room to room at night it happens.
Not always at night but thats when it most
happens.
Thanks in advance. - Confused and Scared
teen.

It is impossible to suggest a diagnosis of
your chest without a physical examination
and some additional tests such as an ECG
or even an X-ray, if necessary. Standard
blood analysis will also be helpful.
Without an accurate diagnosis, I can’t
suggest therapy. You can visit your
primary health provider for an
examination. Sometimes vision problems can
be due to a disorder not caused primarily
by the eyes (anemia, hypotension, and
hypoglycemia). Nonetheless, the eyes
should be checked by an ophthalmologist to
exclude primary eye disorder.
