Ok so 2 days into my pack my boyfriend threw it away on accident while cleaning thinking it was an old pack. (i take ogestrel) I went to the pharmacy to get a new pack and they said they could not administer it until next month so I have been off of it since the 17th of october. I had my last period that was scheduled during my pack that started on the 13th of october. I am never late. I always start either thursday afternoon or evening and I started right before bed thursday so I guess technically it was friday. Anyways after I stopped the pills I had another period that started on the 20th of october. It lasted 3 days as my periods always have. Now my boyfriend went out of town on business (he owns a computer company and works from home but has to go on 2 week long business trips occasionally) well he went on a trip and got back on the 30th of october so we could be together for halloween. Anyways we had unprotected sex as we always do since I am usually on birth control and in our excitement of seeing each other we forgot about the factor that I was not on the pill anymore. He came inside of me twice (which he never really does unless its an oops thing and since he was gone for a few weeks it was.) I didn't do anything about it not even thinking about the fact that I could have ovulated because I read that it takes a few months for that to return after stopping birth control. Well again on november 3rd we had unprotected sex again and he came inside of me again accidently. Well since it was almost the time for my next period which is scheduled by my pill schedule I didn't worry about it, but since this past monday october 6th I have been having the following symptoms: nausea at all times of the day, food adversion (things I usually love I no longer have a taste for and it makes me sick thinking about it), cravings for sweets which I eat very healthy and do not usually eat sweets, my body has been achey, I have been very tired and not wanting to get out of bed for my classes or work. Starting tuesday I had loose stool (tmi I know) headaches, some cm, extreme moodiness, bad gas and burping. Since today I have had constipation, increased cm lots of it making it almost feel as if I am on my period, light cramping, a little bit of light heartburn (which is very abnormal for me i've gotten it like once in my life), I feel as if I have a penny in my mouth when I don't and increased urination. This is also along with my other symptoms that came along earlier. I am curious about what my chances are and if they are high when I could test. Because I don't know what to calculate my period by the 1st period or the 2nd and since i'm not on the pill I don't really know when to expect my next one, I know that if I were still on it it would be coming tomorrow that is calculating it by the first date, I was regular before, but I have been on it for 4 years now and don't really remember how long it was. Based on the average 14 day cycle if I ovulated going off of both periods it could have been anywhere between october 27th and november 3rd. Also around the of november I had a dull pain throughout the day on my lower abdomin on the right hand side and my nipples became very seneitive which both resided in a day or so. I have read lately that those are signs of ovulation, but if they are is it likely that having sex on the days that I did (the 30th (2x) and the 3rd (1x)) how soon do pregnancy symptoms show? When can I test? How likely that soon off the pill am I to get pregnant? Thanks in advance for any help.

a Lot Going On
Hi there -
in my non-medical opinion, i'd guess that your symptoms are more consistent with irregular birth control pill usage than with pregnancy. I have experienced a lot of the same things you describe when I am late taking my pills or miss a pill or accidentally take an extra pill, etc. You can test for pregnancy anytime, but the results will be more accurate if the test is taken around the time you expect to be missing a period (at the earliest). Fyi, a negative preg test can be wrong, but a pos test is almost always a real positive (ie, you are pregnant). To be safe, I would get tested. I think it's terrible that you couldn't get a new pack of pills when you needed them. If there is a planned parenthood near you, i'd recommend talking with them for a preg test and/or spare packs of pills.
