I am reading about different symptoms people have with bumps or glands under the skin. I was wondering if anyone has had the bump removed or surgicaly drained? My 8 year old daughter developed a bump under her chin in the neck area. First I was told that it was an enflamed lymph node because she had a sore throat. She was given antibiotics and the bump got a bit smaller. Then a month later it returned. It was pretty big and she had pain, and high fever. At the er I was told that it was an abscess in or around the lymh node under the chin. To make the long story short, she was sent to an ent specialist and they decided that they would surgicaly drain the thing becuase it was a 2nd occurance and because it was pretty big. Well here I am 3 weeks later and it still has not healed. I am pretty frustrated and worried. Has anyone ever had one of these bumps drained and if so how long did it take to recover? My daughter still has a yellow substance leaking from the surgery opening. Everyday I have to drain the bump. Has anyone ever heard of this? I would appreciate any info. Im so worried becuase it has not healed... Thank you!
