I have my first ultrasound appointment on
friday!!! I'm so pumped!
I can't believe i'm finally going to see
the thing thats been growing inside me all
this time! I can't believe time has gone
so fast! It seems like such a long time
since I first started coming on here...
So many people have had their babies/are
so far along now!!
Now here's my question.... I know at my
ultrasound the technician is going to ask
me if I want to know the sex of my baby.
Before I got pregnant, I always wanted to
know what I would be having, but now i'm
not too sure. It would be good to know
so I could have boy/girl clothes, and so I
could have the room decorated for either,
but on the other hand, there are so few
real surprises in life... My boyfriend
wants to keep it a surprise one day, then
the next day he wants to know too, so he's
not much help in this decision. I'm
pretty much the same way. What do you
guys think?

Sometimes they will not tell you for sure,
just in case they might be wrong and
sometimes they like to cross their legs
and say surprise. It is really up to you
though, I think. I did not want to know
until I got so big that I just hoped that
my 1st was a boy and sure enough it was a
10 lb 2oz baby boy I just did a unisex old
fashioned kind of country situation and a
little antiquish as my hubby made the
cradle for me and the crib and the other
stuff was second hand that we got and
re-done it all with some antiquing and we
had a lot of different things around. It
all went together pretty good even when I
had my daughter a little over a year
later.
Good luck!

I *definitely* want to know when .I got
for my ultrasound on .Monday.. I'm saving
the surprises (maybe) for when .I have my
last child. Plus .I'm super impatient
&anxious. I just wanna get all my
shopping done, &.I'm not a big fan of
a lot of the unisex stuff they have, now.
There's hardly any selection at all.
Everything is pretty much gender
orientated.

You can do it this way. You don't
have to wait for your answer, but it can
still be a surprise for the two of you (or
the whole family if you want to include
them on the event). When I use to
work at babies "r" us, I had this one
couple come up to the register holding a
gift bag with wrappin tissue (uni-sex
colors), and envelope, and a one blue and
one pink pair of booties. They gave
me the cash and told me that they're gonna
step away from the register while I open
the envelope (that was closed and given to
them by their doctor). I was suppose
to see if the card in the envelope said
girl or boy and pick the appropriate color
and put it in the gift bag and top it with
wrappin tissue (it made me feel so special
to be the first one to know what they're
having I couldn't stop smiling at them).
They were going to a romantic dinner
together that night to a fine restaurant,
and open the bag together to find out what
they're having. I though that was the
most *a*w*e*s*o*m*e idea I have ever
heard of. I'm gonna do that with my
husband when we have our baby. We
might do it at a baby shower though
instead of alone, depends if anyone will
throw us a shower.
So you can do that if you want, if you
think it's a good idea to do it that way.
It's still gonna be a surprise, but
you won't have to wait that long to find
out. I love surprises!!!
Let me know if you decided to use my idea
or not. I would love to hear your
reaction (or rather read your reaction)
that you guys had.
Good luck with everything - and god
bless!!!
I'm sure no matter what sex it is, it's
gonna be the most beautiful baby ever!
=)

Hey there! I think the last girl before
me had a really cute idea. Personally, I
couldn't wait out the rest of my pregnancy
to find out what I was having. My
boyfriend & I were both hoping for a
girl so we found out at my 20 wk
ultrasound that we were infact having a
little girlie . It would be soo
much fun to wait and see until the baby
was born, but I just couldn't do it lol.
Good luck with your decision and I think
you should keep it a surprise *if* you
think you can wait that long! Good luck
and I hope you have a safe & healthy
pregnancy .

oooooooooh I like that idea!! Too late
for me to use tho lol
I'ld get the dr to write it down, put it
in an envelope, and then you don't have to
find out the sex, but the envelope is
around incase you change your mind. This
is what I was going to do, except I was
going to save it until the father was
around so we could find out at the same
time. I started to care less about him
and just went and found out on my own at
my ultrasound. I might have a surprise
with one of my future kids, but I find
shopping for the first just too exciting
to restrict to uni-sex clothes.

I wanted to find out the sex of my last
baby but my hubby said he didn't want to,
so we didn't that was the best decision I
made it was so good to have your baby then
the doc or parter say it's a girl or boy.

We *had* to know!
But we were both 100% sure we were having
a boy. I kept telling everyone that I
just knew it was a boy! Mother's
intuition and all that. Both sets of our
parents had their hearts set on a little
girl (we have soooo many boys in the
family) and I kept wondering how I was
going to break it to them that this one
was a boy.
So when the ultrasound technician told us
we were having a girl, I started crying (i
really wanted a girl! Yay!) and my
husband was in shock and kept asking her
if she was sure. So she started pointing
at the labia, etc and there ya go.
It's a good thing we found out, because we
would have gotten everything in blue had
we waited. And I love my little girl
being drowned in pink.

hehehe it was the same way
for me and my hubby. I secretly wanted a
girl, but I had convinced myself it was a
boy! So thankfully, at my third
ultrasound, the tech told us it was a
girl! And I was in so much shock she had
to keep pointing to the girl parts (my
little lady had her legs wide open for the
whole world to see so it was really
obvious
