My mom was hit by a motorcycle 2 years ago and her hip joint got broken. The doctor had to replace her hip joint with stainless metal. After the surgery, she undergo a physio therapy for months. The doctor told us that she can walk again for a few months.
A year later, nothing happened, it is hard for her to walk and she feets that her leg is so heavy that she cant barely carry it. We went back to the doctor and the doctor told us that everything will be alright and the doctor gave her a mefenamic acid and other pain reliever to reduce such pain.
Now, its been more than 2 years now and still nothing happened. She feels the pain and agony of the hip bone replacement and it is hard for her to walk, and its been 2 years that my mom had to drink the mefenamic acid and other pain reliever to reduce the pain that she feel.
I would like to ask if is it normal to have such pain and agony forever if you undergo a hip joint replacement? I have read some forums and sites experiences that they can walk normally a month after hip replacement but why is it that the same is not applicable to my mom?
Thank you so much.
