Q: Lump on Upper Thigh: Cancer?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 6th, 2006
I FOUND A LUMP ON THE BACK OF MY RIGHT LEG IN THE UPPER THIGH AREA. IT IS SENSITIVE TO THE TOUCH AND MIGHT BE THE SIZE OF A SMALL MARBLE. CANCER RUNS IN MY FAMILY AND I AM WORRIED THAT IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING RELATED TO CANCER.

The lump on the back of your upper thigh area, sensitive to touch, could be generally considered a "tumor" but it is not possible to diagnose its nature without a physical examination. It could be a furunculus, sebaceal cyst, or an actual tumor. Tumors can be benign or malignant. You can go to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon for specialty help for this condition.
