Q: Help Me

Ok so heres the deal... I was drunk at that party where I posted the vampire pics and this guy was chatting me up so he asked for my number and I gave it Rolling Eyes

well the next day he was ringing and texting asking if I would go on a date with him. I told him no cause I just split up with my hubby and we're not divorced. He said fair enough why don't we just go out as friends then.

My gut told me not to cause I don't fancy him at all but my mum said it will do me good to get out and meet people (if neil can do it then I can) and there is no harm in being friends.

I just don't know what this guys intentions are. He is taking me to a resturaunt and i'm meeting him tomorrow night. Any advice?

Set your own ground rules and stick to them.
If you say it's dinner only - mean it - it'll do your own self esteem good as well.

Dinner does not mean sex or anything else.
Friends can go out to dinner together.
Just know what oyu intend and stick to it, make it clear you have no intentions of taking it further (esp not on this occassion)

then go out let mom look after the kids and just enjoy a night out.

I agree with kia. As long as you are clear with him that it is definitely just as friends then he can't claim you are leading him on. For safety's sake, let your mum know what restaurant you are going to. Just in case he gets pushy.

How well do you know this guy? Was the party the time you met him?

Thanks kia. I'm just so nervous. I've never had to be on a 1 to 1 situation like this for years! What will I talk about?! Shocked

I think you should go! Let him spend his money on you lol just look at it as a couple hours break from the kids, a chance to get to know someone who you might want to have in your life as a friend or w/e and a free dinner! If you don't like him or feel uncomfortable you can say your going to the bathroom and sneak out. I wouldnt let him know where I live if I were u, cos u dont know him very well, he could be a real weirdo. And keep your hands to yourself! Lol

Lol. I'm not letting him know where I live. Should I expect him to pay or should I automatically go halfs?

I'd say *expect* to go halves but when the time comes just go with the flow and see what he does.

He asked u out on a date, hes interested in u as more than just friends, I think he'll pay. U could have a few drinks before you go so you wont be too nervous. I was only kidding about keeping your hands to yourself lol loads of people do 'stuff' on a first date, do what u feel is right at the time.

I'm really picky. If I didn't "fancy" a guy I wouldn't bother going on a date with him.

It's not technically meant to be a date though tanya. It's as friends. Thats whats bugging me- can me and women ever really be friends? Confused

Yeah, some of my best friends are guys. I trust my guy friends more and they are way more reliable. Their also protective over you. Girls screw you over, guys are just good friends. But i'm 17, I don't think it's the norm later in life.

Though I can't imagine going out to dinner or anything just to establish a friendship with a man at your age. I'm sure he's interested even if he agreed to go as just friends.

My sister is turning 21 in march. I can't believe people on here are her age and already have husbands and up to two kids. It's so weird because I feel like i'm the same age as my sister, and I couldn't imagine her in that type of role yet.

Same here! My sister is 23 and she hasn't even got a boyfriend, let alone a hubby and kids!
