Are cats bad for women in any way? My dad keeps saying that if I get one, it'll be bad for my sister...Is that true?

Unless your sister is allergic to cats, there's nothing wrong with having one.
If your sister is pregnant, there is some danger to her as a pregnant woman because of certain bacterial illnesses that can pass to her. She should never change or go near litter boxes.
