Q: Partial Hysterectomy

Sad im going to get my left ovary taken out on 11/8/06 .... I was wonder if I would still be able to have kids .... I know it depends on what the doctor finds wrong with my left ovary if I can have kids at all .... But I was just wondering if it was possiable to have kids with one ovary ?????????? Sad Sad Sad Sad

Not if you are having a hysterectomy.

When you say you are having the ovary removed do you mean just the ovary? If so that is not a hysterectomy, it is an oophrectomy.

If this is the case and you still have a uterus and an ovary then yes there is a chance of you conceiving, although those chances are much lower than for a woman with both ovaries.

If you are having the ovary and the uterus removed then no you will not be able to conceive or carry a child.
