Q: Getting Pregnant

I currently have a very healthy 2.5 year old. I went off birth control in june of 2006 and have been trying to get pregnant since then. I have had sex around my ovulation time calculated on an ovulation calculator. Question I have not been able to do so. I have had really heavy periods and a lot of cramping since I have gone off my pill. My last period lasted for 9 days. Is there something wrong with me or why cant I get pregnant?

It takes your body awhile to get used to being off of the hormones. I would keep trying for a few more months but if you are really worried talk to your doctor.

It can take normal, healthy couples a year to conceive. Keep trying.

Your heavy periods and longer flow are due to coming off birth control. Like the previous poster said, it can take awhile for your body to adjust.
