My husband and I are trying for a baby. This is only the second month that we're ttc. The first month failed. When I had my annual check-up (february) every test that my obgyn took came back excellent. My husband on the other hand has this thick vein in his testicle (varicocele) that most the times causes infertility (40% of all men). This problem can only be fixed with a little surgery. He didn't go to the doctor as I just put him on my insurance and we're still waiting for his ins card to come in the mail. Are there any women or men in this forum that have or had the same situaton? Am I not gonna get pregnant until he has his "little" surgery done? What are my chances here? I really wanna be a mommy!

Are there men out there that got their wifes pregnant with this disorder?

Please help!

Hi wanna! My nephew had this same problem, if you are referring to something called a vagus nerve? He was told the same thing as your husband when he was a young child. They suggested surgery, which his parents never bothered to get for him. He now is 33, has had 4 pregnancies resulting in two children. One pregnancy I am sorry to say was aborted because his girlfriend was very young (16) and the other, sadly was a miscarriage that is wife recently suffered. But he had no problem getting two women pregnant, so I guess you can't always believe what the doctors say! Just relax, don't stress about it, and it will happen. Chances are better that stress will cause you not to get pregnant, than the nerve problem, unless of course it is a very bad case. I say take your time, don't think about it, and have fun. Give yourself a time frame, and if it doesn't happen by then, check back with your doctor. Good luck!
