What does everyone think about abortion at 38 weeks? There is a law being passed about this and I for one am all for it.

38 weeks is full-term. What would be the point of it, by then? Babies are viable, and could easily be placed for adoption if they were not wanted.
I do not agree with partial-birth abortions.

Thats rediculus!!!!!
I don't think abortion should happen at all!!!
If some doesn't want their baby give the sweet innocent child up for adoption don't kill it because your too much of a baby yourself to take care of he/she.
There are so many people out there unable to create a baby and are heart broken each time it doesn't happen!!!!!!!
That is sooooooo not right!!!!

maybe it is soooooo right and you are just looking at this the wrong way. After all, this world is getting overpopulated. Ok ok ok, let's make a deal, what if we only abort mexicans and chinese?

This topic belongs in the .Debate forum, anyway. Prolife are against abortion, and this will only stir up drama here.

what is the law? Is it outlawing them at this stage (unless for medical emergency) or is it making them legal? You have not provided enough information for me to make a comment on.

I can think of a couple new people who need to be voted off the ehealth island. This is not an elementary playground. Please attempt to be mature.

if there's any way to deliver then that should take precedent but if it has to be done to save the womans life (and there is no possibility of a safe delivery) then I understand that and still believe the woman takes priority

The only place I know of that performs abortions at full term is china, and it's due to their one-child policy. The interesting thing is if the fetus comes out alive, it gets injected with formaldehyde to kill it and the mother gets told it died of natural causes. It's a bit gruesome, but that's the way to policy works. I assume the fetus is aborted via c-section, considering I think it would be difficult to use suction.

I do not agree with partial-birth abortions.
not necessarily. I believe I posted a rather long post on here before about "viability" and I will try to find it and bring it back up.
There are any number of things that could happen to force an abortion to have to be performed even at the latest stages of a pregnancy. Abortions in the third trimester only account for 1/6th of 1% of all abortions that take place. They are without exception performed to save the life, health, future fertility of the mother, or because of irreprable damage to the fetus who will not be able to live on their own.
In the case of an abortion at 38 weeks, the doctor would choose the best method available to preserve the life and health of the woman because at that stage her life is being threatened or the fetus is already dead or so severely damaged that it will not survive. In these cases, it is, in my opinion, more merciful to end a failed pregnancy than to continue it.
Again, let me reiterate that the fetus' in these pregnancies are not viable. They are not going to live healthy lives outside of the uterus and that is why these very rare abortions take place. These are not, despite the common misconception, perfectly healthy pregnancies with live, healthy fetus' who are being killed by irresponsible women who waited until the last minute (who would do that?).
Despite popular opinion among prolife people, these unfortunate women chose to keep their pregnancies and then had the hope that they had placed in them dashed to the rocks by fate, genetics, and health problems. These very rare abortions are tragedies but are unfortunately necessary if the woman is going to maintain her health and life.
I hope this helps to put this into a more realistic perspective.

how do you know that the orginal poster is tnot talking about a viable fetus?
How do you know that he/she was not refering to healthy full term babies?
Sadly, there are people out there that think its exceptable to abort a full term healthy fetus, and this poster made no indication that she was talking about a situation in where the mothers life was at risk or that the fetus had severe defects.
