Q: Birthcontrol Without the Weight Gain?

I have been on birth control for well 6 years. About a year ago, when the patch controversy ended, I decided to quit using birth control...Now I dont know if it is because I am off birth control, or other things such as dieting but I am 25 lbs lighter than I used to be. I am in a serious relationship again, and I get very anxious over getting pregnant, and I realized I need to get back on bc, but im scared I will put the weight back on. Anyone know anything about a birthcontrol that wont make me put on any weight?

An iud, or intrauterine device has no hormones(the copper one) and will not cause side effects like other birth control methods will.

I have had one for years and love it =)

I will warn you, some docs are reluctant to insert them for women who have never had children. Some doctors just do not like them :/

if you find hesitation, planned parenthood is awesome about iud's, they insert many of them!

It is the most popular form of bc in europe =)

Either way, just keep track of your eating habits, eat well, get some good exercise and drink lots of water and you should be fine. A lot of the people who gain weight tend to be junk food junkies and couch potatoes.
